Ash spoon making

Come along and play with some green ash wood.  Join us at Bore Place for some ash spoon making, taught by John Waller

Ash spoons and bowls have been used by Britons since the bronze age, it was the material of choice prior to ceramic and steel. You will take home a finished spoon made of ash wood, which will mean that you will have your very own ash keepsake and memento of the project.  Come along and play with some green ash wood.  This green wood working course is taught by John Waller and is aimed at the novice outdoors-man or woman.  The course will cover axe and knife safety, tool selection and comprehensive instruction in spoon whittling!

You will book through John Wallers booking form below and please indicate at the time of booking whether you are right- or left- handed. All other tools and materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring along any special or interesting tools you have!

As you may be outside for some of the course, please wear warm, comfortable clothes that are suitable for the forecasted weather conditions and wear sturdy shoes or boots at all times in the workshop.

There is a maximum of 6 participants for this course so book early to avoid disappointment.

The cost of the course is £45 per person and has been subsidised by The Ash Project  and is payable directly to John Waller. Please bring a packed lunch, hot drinks will be provided.
